Pond Mountain Natural Area hosted the Western Connecticut Orienteering Club on Sunday, May 31 for a fun and challenging day outdoors. This Score-O event invited participants to find as many control markers as possible within either a 1.5-hour or 3-hour time limit, choosing their own route and pace along the way.

Thank you to naturalist Dave Paton for leading another guided mushroom walk at the Pond Mountain Natural Area on June 7th. Participants learned tricks to spot and identify seasonal mushrooms, understand their role in the forest ecosystem, and gain a deeper appreciation for the hidden life beneath our feet.
